As part of the refurbishment and modernization plan of the National Sanctuary’s entire structure, developed a number of projects among which the highlight is the North Tribune, a multi-use stage designed to house 8.000 spectators in open-air performances and events, with a lower floor projected to locate dressing rooms, restrooms and leisure and support areas.
The North Tribune’s highest challenge was the issue on acoustic and thermal comfort, as it attends for events of several dimensions, in different hours or climates.
The Aparecida city located in the Paraíba Valley in the State of São Paulo, welcomes 11 million visitors every year, attracted by the local religious tourism. This city houses the image of Our Lady of Aparecida, renowned throughout the world due to her miracles and numerous graces across the centuries. Pilgrims travel over extended distances in recognition of graces achieved and also visit the region’s tourist spots. Venerated by millions of catholics throughout the world, Our Lady of Aparecida is Brazil’s patron saint. Her sacred image is currently kept in the altar of the National Sanctuary. Her liturgical feast day is celebrated on October 12, a national holiday.
