River Plate – The Monumental

It is with great excitement that we finally unveil this remarkable project, developed together with friends and a technical team worthy of a World Cup title, the transformation of the iconic Monumental River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires, for Club Atlético River Plate.

Collaborating on retrofit and expansion projects for such emblematic and historically significant sports venues presents immense technical and emotional challenges—demanding both humility and deep respect for the stadium’s legacy.

This monumental project, developed alongside esteemed partners and a technical team of the highest caliber, marks a new era for the stadium’s history that began in 1938. The project introduces an innovative standalone 360° upper tier, adding 16,000 new seats seamlessly around the existing bowl and redefining the stadium’s spectator experience. With this expansion, the venue will welcome approximately 101,000 fans, becoming the second-largest football club stadium in the world.

After a long period of visioning and preparation, and with the invited tender now moving forward and construction set to begin in early April, we’re drawing closer to the moment when ideas will finally rise from the ground.

We extend our gratitude to our partners.
